Anne Marie Palita is a native of Delaware County with a background in nursing, forestry and as a biological research assistant (bird song communication). An award‑winning, self‑taught photographer, she developed her interest in photography and natural history while living the Intermountain West. She has enjoyed extensive travel throughout the United States, Canada, Greenland, Panama, Venezuela, Peru, Malaysia, Australia, South Africa, and China, taking her camera wherever she goes.
While her earlier work focused on large‑scale landscapes, she tries to continually diversify her perspective and refine her technique. Her recent work explores more intimate views of nature, abstracts in nature and digital interpretation of subjects.
A juried member of the Artists’ Guild of Delaware County and a member of the Chester County Art Association (both in Pennsylvania) she has exhibited in many juried and non‑juried shows in the Philadelphia area since 1989. Her photographs have also appeared in several publications.
