Maria Morales...

Maria Morales lives in suburban Philadelphia, PA. She has a B.A. from Immaculata University where she majored in Spanish and Latin American literature and culture. She has studied art academically, and also privately with several artists, including local artists Anne Balbernie and Karen Fogerty.

Maria’s work portrays her sincere interest in people, especially her love and respect for the dignity and heritage of Indians of North and South America and the Caribbean. She has traveled extensively in these areas. Many of her works portray the love and bond between mother and child.
Maria’s media include gouache, tempera, oil, watercolor, pastel and pencil. Since 1991, Maria has exhibited at the bi‑annual American Indian Arts Festival at the Powhatan‑Renape Nation reservation in New Jersey, the largest juried invitational Indian show on the East Coast, and won many awards in the show’s Fine Arts category, including Best of Division. She was the featured artist at the 30th Annual Taino Indian Festival in Jayuya, Puerto Rico.

Maria is a member of Chester County Art Association, Wayne Art Center, Philadelphia Watercolor Society (signature member: PWCS) and the Taino Indian Nation of the Antilles. Her art is in private collections throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and abroad, including South America, Mexico, Canada, England and Africa.

Maria teaches and lectures on art and her work. She is in galleries in suburban Philadelphia, Arizona, and Puerto Rico.
