Philip Lang is a self-taught plein air artist whose paintings depict the colors and textures of the Brandywine Valley and the coastal areas of California. As an adolescent, he became interested in painting; however, he did not pursue it after high school and college. While working in California, Philip was drawn once again to this wonderful art form and has been painting ever since.
Philip studied with Art Renshaw in Arroyo Grande, California for several years. After returning to his native Pennsylvania, he studied the art of Floral painting under Anna B. Francis of Longwood Gardens, PA. He also took a workshop in Landscape Painting under Susan Sarback of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Philip’s preferred medium is pastel, but also enjoys painting in watercolor. He has exhibited in the 2004 and 2006 Unionville Art Gala, and the Unionville Community Fair where he took First Place in 2005,and Best of Show in 2006.
Philip lives with his family in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
