Bill Edwards...

After receiving his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, Bill began his journey as an artist with diverse interests and experiences. His 35-year career has included many honors and awards working as a graphic designer, commercial and medical illustrator, as well as continuing to work with photography and woodworking.

As a medical illustrator, he created successful promotional and medical illustrations for major pharmaceutical companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Smith Kline.

As an experienced portrait artist, he has created corporate portraits as well as individually commissioned portraits for both people and pets.

During the past eight years, Bill has expanded his palette and focused on the very specialized field of infrared photography, compiling an exceptional gallery of fine art images.

As a result of his lifelong interest in woodworking, Bill has also developed a unique line of hand-hewn wooden bowls. Unlike machine lathe-turned bowls, these bowls are sculpted from solid logs in classic techniques using only 18th century-style hand tools to create treasured heirlooms from various species of native American hardwood trees. This style of carving highlights the care and attention that was the hallmark of Early
American craftsmen and Bill sees this as a way to preserve this almost “lost art.”
