Allison Douglass, a self-taught artist, has been painting
murals and commission pieces for over a decade. Her work explores the
impact of color & light.
Relating to one of Henry David Thoreau's quotes - "It's not what
you see, it's how you see it," her work invites the viewer to travel
to images and places from their past or perhaps an emotional journey
not yet seen.
Allison was recently chosen as a feature artist by The News Journal
and was photographed in her studio working on her 64"x48"
oil piece titled "Contemplation".
A two time MBNA grant recipient to further art education, Allison works
with the Delaware schools for special needs children. The 8'x16' mural
"Delaware As I See It" was a cooperative product of this program
and has been on display in the state capitol for several years.
