Jeffrey Serusa lives and works on Martha's Vineyard, MA. He has been photographing nautical and scenic life on the island for over ten years. In 1995, Jeffrey began showing his photographic work at the Granary Gallery. His best known image, "Seasmoke," features the beloved ferry Islander sailing into Vineyard Haven Harbor on a January morning, in a frigid 4 degrees, with wind howling at 45 miles per hour. Clouds of opaque smoke rise from the chilly waters giving the moment a dreamlike feel.
Jeffrey grew up on the island and owns the Seaworthy Gallery. He works primarily with large format wooden camers as well a medium format and shoots on film. All of his works are printed in house using high-end Giclee printers on both canvas and German watercolor paper, some as large as ten feet wide. Each edition of Giclee is limited, signed and numbered.
