Allison Douglass

Allison Douglass, a self-taught artist, has been painting murals and commissioned pieces for over a decade. Her work explores the impact of color and light.

Relating to one of Henry Thoreaus quotes, "It's not what you see, it's how you see it," her work invites the viewer to travel to images and places of their past or perhaps an emotional journey not yet seen.

Allison was chosen as featured artist by The News Journal, a Delaware paper, and was photographed in her studio working on her 64x48 oil piece titled "Contemplation."

A two time MBNA grant recipient to further art education, Allison works with the Delaware schools for special needs children. The 8'x16' mural "Delaware As I See It" was a cooperative product of this program and has been on display at the State Capitol for several years.
